Korea focusing on premium food exports
Korea’s food exports last 2015 amounted to $6.11 billion. This year, Korea aims to raise the bar and reach an amount of $8.1 billion food exports by the end of 2016 by focusing on premium food exports. Among the first countries tapped by Korea were Japan and China where they will be focusing on exporting ginseng and other premium agricultural and food items that have health benefits in Japan, and fresh goods and processed food items in China. As Halal-certified Korean food products continue to rise, many are eager to find out what they can offer to Saudi Arabia’s growing food market.
