A.F. JONES EXPORTERS CEYLON (PRIVATE) LIMITED

The legacy of A. F. Jones dates back to the 20th of June 1912 when Arthur Fredrick, the pioneer of Jones mastered the hidden art of tea and was inspired to launch his own tea company. As a result, A.F Jones was launched in Colombo the capital of Sri Lanka, by fulfilling one of his most cherished dreams. Eventually the company made its steady establishment by shipping its maiden export of tea to Malaysia. The gradual expansion of Jones was heavily obstructed by the World Wars where our founder had to deal with constant challenges, but he with his sons stepping into business made the Jones Company unstoppable while their clear vision along with the right decisions and attitude kept the momentum increasing. Progressively after Sri Lanka received independence from the British in 1948 our founder and his family, in 1967 decided to return to Great Britain. This opened doors for the acquisition of the Company by the Maharaja Organization Limited and thus heralded the birth of A.F. Jones Exporters Ceylon Pvt Ltd.
